Yak Meats

Pasture raised, Grass-Fed

We are a grass-fed grass-finished yak farm. In addition, our yaks also enjoy fruits and vegetables such as pumpkins, squash, apples, carrots, and more. All our yaks have a name, even the ones destined for the freezer. We love and care for them, giving them the best life possible.

Yak is one of the healthiest red meats in the world. It has a similar texture to beef and contains an unmatched sweet flavor. Once you try Yak, you don’t go back!

Yak Fibers and Yarn

100% all natural

Yak fiber is one of the finest fibers in the world. It is hypoallergenic, soft, and great for holding warmth in. All yaks grow a winter coat which shields them from the elements and keeps them warm all winter long. Our Minnesotan yaks grow a nice thick layer of winter fiber which we comb off in the spring using dog brushes. Combing sessions last from five minutes per yak to an hour per yak, depending on their level of enjoyment. Just like people, some yaks like to be touched some like their space. It takes about four to six combing sessions over a series of weeks to collect all their winter fiber. We then sell some of the raw yak fiber, the other fiber is sent off to a fiber mill to be cleaned and de-haired and then spun into yarn. Our yarn is blended with other fibers to make a great yarn.

Yak Leather Hides

100% all natural

We utilize as much of the yaks as we possibly can. One of our yak products is their hide after they are butchered. When a yak is butchered in the Spring, Summer or Fall we have the hide tanned into leather. When a yak is butchered in the winter they have the best hair quality and we then have the hide tanned with the hair on it. These hides are durable, soft, pliable, and can be used for a wide variety of applications.

Free Range

Are you looking for a tasty free range chicken for dinner? If so you found the right spot. We also raise chickens in the good outdoors. They have lots of space to roam and be chickens and they have a shelter from bad weather and night predators. Our chickens love fruits and vegetables. It is really fun to watch them devour grapes, blueberries, and cantaloupe. They love to run around and spread their wings. The Assistants are great chicken farmers and do a great job taking care of the chickens. Pre-orders in the spring are welcome and encouraged.
